I’m Georgina Myles

I’m a Scottish English literature graduate with a passion for healthy lifestyles and ethical business. I have a rich background in literature, English language teaching, language learning and business opportunities that enrich people’s lives by bringing ethnic and wellness to the forefront.

In love with India, I have discovered the practice of meditation while studying Tibetan language and autodidactic studies of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. I have been a student in India for the last few years, and I have discovered the great benefits of incorporating Wellness into a stressful and busy modern life.

One contribution that I can make is in bringing some of the fantastic tools and products I have learned from India and around the world back to my home turf in the hope of benefitting others. I’ve discovered that in order to take care of mind and body, our lives must be set up in such a way which is supportive to such central practices as meditation, yoga, eating and so forth.

That’s how I decided to introduce, through independent selling, some of the under-rated and undersold products that I’ve discovered. I hope you’ll enjoy and benefit…

Offerings

The United Kingdom and Europe is rich with festivals, markets, pop-up shops, independent businesses and so much more. There are so many opportunities for people like me, with a wish to bring some fantastic products discovered in different places around the world, to showcase some truly fantastic and innovative ways to enhance everyone’s health and wellness.

First and foremost is the fantastic Shakti Mat – which has myriad benefits for the body. Working with both reflexology points when stood upon, and the acupressure points and meridians when used on certain points on the body, Shakti Mat has the potential to tap into our subtle body (or nervous system in allopathic terms) and to work with the subtle winds (known as qi in Chinese tradition - CTM or Chinese traditional medicine - prana in Yoga traditions - Ayurvedic medicine - and Lung in Tibetan – Tibetan Traditional Medicine) and meridian channels which run through the body and affect the vital energies.

Working in such a way with these ‘winds and channels’ frees up energetical blockages in certain ‘power places’ (or chakras), where energy can become obstructed and stagnate, therefore causing both psychosomatic and somatopsychic problems, which can fundamentally affect quality of life, and of course, good health. I am so enthusiastic about Shakti Mat because it offers an empowering way for us to work with our own bodies as and when we need and want, without having to rely on visiting a therapist every time we need ‘release’. How amazing is that? Watch this space for Shakti Mat coming your way…. Everyone needs one of these!

From my home turf

Working with friends I will also be selling my own meditation cushions filled with buckwheat, hand-stitched sustainable cotton and made with natural earth dyes.

Wickerwork with sustainable willow – having learned to work with this fantastic and versatile wood, which grows healthily in the United Kingdom, these hand-woven wicker baskets have the strength and versatility to make them a staple necessity and a powerful competitor to plastic storage.

There are many, many more projects in the pipeline that I wish to pursue: cork yoga mats, re-purposed materials for blocks, mats, cushions and other yoga and wellness accessories, as well as wellness enhancing products such as essential oils, massage accessories using semi-precious quartz and even non-aluminium sustainable cooking products to protect health and wellbeing in every nook and cranny of our lives.

East and West Africa

Looking beautiful is so important, but what I’ve learnt is that looking beautiful has so much more purpose and depth when it supports a beautiful world and benefits the people who have helped us to be beautiful. Having travelled to East and West Africa back in 2012, I also want to bring some of the amazing jewelry and textiles to our shores. Working with local textile makers in Ethiopia and jewelry cooperatives in Ghana, these beautiful and authentic pieces will be a much-needed antidote to mass-produced, disposable jewelry which is so prolific in this day and age. Watch this space for updates, once I have finalized my intentions in this field…

Practice with me

Please join me for weekly Zoom calls where I invite you to join me for a meditation session, facilitated by me. I have had many opportunities for guided meditation and I would love to share my practice with you. My background is in the Tibetan tradition and every week I will offer a different guided meditation, based on the teachings of Tibetan Buddhist Masters. These meditations will cover diverse analytical subjects such as Precious Human Life, Impermanence and Death, Karma, Samsara, Compassion and Loving-Kindness and many other tangents on these themes.

Currently these meditations are offered on a gratis basis, but with enough interest and the right conditions I will offer retreats in the future, from my home base in Scotland. *NB: I am on holiday for the month of August, so all Zoom calls are suspended for the time being – please feel free to reach out if you have any questions in the meantime 😊
